More than just a snapshot
I started my journey as a photographer nearly 6 years ago, when I bought my first camera secondhand for a Intro Photography course my first semester of college. I was majoring in Theatre Performance, but wanted another creative outlet. While I didn’t find still life photography to be of much interest, I did take a shine to portraiture. But the semester ended, and the class with it, and that was that for my photography career. Or so I thought.
Another two semesters came and went, auditions and classes and growth made one thing clear to my friends and me: we needed someone to take our headshots. Well. I had a camera, why couldn’t it be me? So we set up a makeshift studio in a dorm room using a cheap ring light, a wrinkled sheet, and my trusty camera. Those headshots worked for a time, but eventually the need came again – and this time from even more friends. The more practice I got, the more I fell in love with getting to show my friends an image that captured the heart I see in them every day. Today, that love has grown into a true passion.
As a headshot photographer, my goal in a session with an actor is to set free the elusive shine everybody carries in a face to face interaction and capture it on camera. A headshot is often an actor’s first impression, and I want to make it a good one – one that feels like the real you. Because I am an actor as well I have plenty of experience on the other side of the camera, and can use that to put the actor in front of mine at ease. We work together to find the images that capture both who you are, and who you could be.

Student Sessions
I am passionate about supporting and empowering young artists entering their careers – I recently had to opportunity to offer affordable sessions to college students through a collaboration with the Belmont Department of Theatre and Dance.
